I am a smidgen late in posting my New Year’s Resolutions, I do hope you’ll forgive me. Anyway, it’s better late than never, right? I do always enjoy writing resolutions at the start of each year, and it’s nice to be able to post them somewhere public so my friends can hold me accountable. Truthfully, last year I think my resolutions were a tad bit…ambitious. Of course, ambition is good, to an extent. But in this case my goals were very big-picture, long-term goals, that I had trouble following because they were not easily quantifiable.
This year my resolutions are small, but ultimately meaningful things that I can very feasibly work towards each day.
Wear lolita at least once a week. My lolita wardrobe is still small, but it has finally grown to the point that I can absolutely feasibly do this now.
Spend at least one hour per day without electronics. By electronics I mean computers, cell phones, and video games. I’d like to spend less time using these things, and more time appreciating nature or enjoying the company of friends and loved ones.
Keep a tea journal. I drink tea everyday, and I love it so very much, but I think journalling about the tea I drink would make it even more fun for me. It means I will need to drink slowly, and allow myself to savor the flavors of the tea more. And it also means I will feel encouraged to try more teas than I normally would.
Read more books. This one is a bit more difficult to quantify; I don’t want to write something like “Finish one book every other week” since the length and density of a book may vary so much. But I would really like to read more; it is a hobby I have sadly abandoned since I started college.
Buy more lolita basics. I find myself very eager to buy lolita main pieces (dresses and skirts), and not so much the essential basics like blouses and shoes. In particular, I would like to buy more cotton blouses of varying collar styles, since right now all of my blouses have giant Peter Pan collars.
