Yesterday I took a trip to one of my favorite stores in Pittsburgh, Kawaii Gifts. This store has a fantastic selection of kawaii stationery and official Sanrio, San-X, and Pusheen goods. They also have some Asian snacks that you can’t find anywhere else, Kidrobot figures, and K-pop albums and merchandise. Basically, it’s heaven on earth for kawaii enthusiasts such as myself. Recently they also opened a Daiso pop-up store (see the above image) selling practical, yet cute items for only $3 each. Most of the items in this haul are from the original Kawaii Gifts store, but I also got a couple of things from Daiso which I will talk about at the end of the post. On with the haul!
What do you think of the haul? Do you have a favorite item?
What an adorable haul! I love the Drop Tale stickers, they look so lovely! Elise seems to be enjoying herself, as well 🙂
As for the French Phrase, my French skills are a little rusty, but I believe it says “I adore Paris! It is magnificent! I prefer Paris bakeries.” (Alternatively, it could mean “My favorite bakeries are of Paris”).
I wish there would be something like this pop-up in my hometown! I know there would never be one in the town that I go to college in (it’s a very small town nestled into the mountains and I have yet to ever see another person in kawaii fashion ;-;). But I can always hope for something in my hometown! 🙂
Thank you for your translation! It’s kind of funny how so many Japanese products have French on them. I saw French on the Drop Tale sticker sheet, too.
Honestly, I feel really lucky that we have a store like that here. Pittsburgh is a small city, obviously not quite as small as a small college town like you described, but it feels so much more like a suburb sometimes. And even in big cities like New York it is difficult to find OFFICIAL Sanrio/San-x goods…knockoffs are much more common unfortunately.
Do you have any Asian marketplaces nearby like Mitsuwa or H-Mart? When I lived in my previous hometown I would sometimes drive over an hour to go to those places because they have loads of Japanese goodies/snacks/stationery that I couldn’t find otherwise.
We don’t have any Asian marketplaces like that, we do have some small Asian food stores, but nothing with any sort of cute stationary/items. I mostly just stock up on kawaii items when I’m at conventions, but that can get super expensive. I also order a lot online ^u^”

la pâtisserie prĂ©fĂ©rĂ©e des parisiennes – the preferred pastry of parisians~ (this is definitely meant to sound like the slogan of a French bakery, lol. how cute!)
ooh, and “mangeons beaucoup de fraises sucrĂ©es tous ensemble” – let’s eat lots of sugary strawberries allllll together <3
