My dear friend and fellow lolita Nina gifted me this adorable tin of tea for Christmas. It seemed like something I must have created in a dream; not only is it named after my favorite brand, but it’s made using my favorite three flavors, rose, vanilla, and strawberry!
The tea is one of Adagio Teas’ fandom blends. Sadly I couldn’t find this particular blend on their website, but I still thought a review of it might make for a cute lifestyle-type post.
This tea smells wonderful. It does have quite a sweet odor due to the vanilla and strawberries, but the black tea leaves keep it from smelling too sickeningly sweet, and give it a slightly more refined odor. It seems perfect for Baby, which is undeniably one of the sweetest lolita brands, but in my opinion often achieves the perfect balance between super-girly sweetness and a more delicate, mature femininity in their pieces.
After adding hot water the strawberry scent really came out, and the water turned a cute, rosy amber color. This tea smells even more delicious when brewing, like a freshly-baked strawberry shortcake!
This tea is surprisingly light. The strawberries are definitely the main flavor here. I drank this without any milk or sugar, and I think it was sweet enough on its own, but then again I don’t care much for very sweet teas. I was a little disappointed that I could not taste the roses at all, and I do think the strawberries were a bit overpowering. The next time I brew this I will be careful to put less strawberries in my pot, if I can. I also think it would taste better over ice, but I’ll have to test that in a few months when the weather is a bit warmer here. Overall I enjoyed this tea, and I’ll definitely have to brew some the next time I’m craving strawberry cake!
Ooh, my fave brand is also BTSSB! What a cute little tin! Awesome review too! This tea sounds like it would be a good match for someone who doesn’t drink tea often, because of the strawberry flavor. It sounds like an excellent starter tea ^-^
Thanks for your comment! ^_^ I think that it would be good for somebody who doesn’t like tea that much, especially if you put some milk in it! Also I finally found it on the Adagio website, by searching the acronym BTSSB instead of the full name. http://www.adagio.com/signature_blend/blend.html?blend=115155
